At the height of apartheid in 1979, friends Ndaba Ntsele and Solly Sithole established Pamodzi Property Developers (PPD). The pioneering businessmen procured land earmarked for housing development, and subsequently expanded this enterprise to include financial assistance to home buyers. The mid-eighties construction slump proved more a challenge than a defeat; PPD shifted focus and established petrol stations in township areas. The company’s partnership with Murray & Roberts realised a Soweto-wide building materials chain during that era. In 1993 Ndaba and Solly again diversified their portfolio, this time as incumbents of the Nike Southern Africa licence. Their leadership established Nike as a leading brand in Africa. The Nike Care Trust, facilitating the development of sporting facilities in underprivileged communities, was also their initiative. Empowered by success under oppression, the duo was poised for growth in the newly democratic South Africa. In 1996 Pamodzi Investment Holdings was born. Little more than ten years later, our company has built up substantial brand equity, through its reputation and superior performance, to open numerous new investment doors.
